French Toast Bake


 




Haven't you eaten all the bread you bought the day before and don't want to throw it away? This recipe is made for you ! From now on, stale bread will no longer go in the trash. Recycle it into a delicious dessert or snack. Not only is this cake easy to make, it is also very inexpensive. By baking your French toast in the oven rather than in a pan as usual, your dessert will be ready faster. And as a bonus, the smell of fried food that reigns throughout the house is over!

* Ingredients:

° 1 baguette of stale bread
° 3 c. powdered sugar
° 2 glasses of milk
° 1 whole egg
° 1 egg yolk
° 1 jar of strawberry, cherry or apricot jam
° 100 g of butter
° 1 c. small spoon of natural vanilla flavor

* Preparation:

Preheat the oven to 195 ° C (th.6). Butter a 24 cm diameter loaf pan. Cutting  baguette to pieces 1 cm thick. Butter first side of the slices of bread. Put them in the buttered mold to totally line  bottom. And covering every slice of bread with a little small spoon of the jam of your option .

In a salad bowl, pour the milk and the natural vanilla flavoring. Add the powdered sugar, whole egg and egg yolk. Combine to get a similar paste. Pour the mixture into the loaf pan to soak the bread.

Bake for about 25 minutes. When the French toast gets a nice amber color, take the dish out of the oven. You can enjoy this French toast in a warm or cold oven, top it with a little liquid caramel or sprinkle it with toasted flaked almonds. You can also serve it with some fruit or a nice scoop of vanilla ice cream.
